Nike Dunk SB Low - Eire

The Nike Dunk SB Low – Pro SB Eire have a lot of history behind them that can be trace back to the an Easter Monday, April 24th 1916 when a force of Irishmen under arms estimated at between 1,000 and 1,500 men and women attempted to seize Dublin, with the ultimate intention of destroying British rule in Ireland and creating an entirely independent Irish Republic to include all 32 counties of Leinster, Munster, Ulster and Connaught. Their leaders, Patrick Pearse, James Connolly and the others, knew that their chances of success were so slight as to be almost non-existent. Yet they fought, and died.” (kicksonfire)

I acquired these in 2006, and they are my first pair of Dunk SBs. They are also special to me because of my Irish heritage.

I remember the day I bought these like it was yesterday…

I was in class at SLCC, and a classmate commented on my shoes. He then told me his friend’s store had some cool Nikes and I should check it out. Not being very familiar with skate shops in West Jordan, I took his advice and went to check it out. The shop was Technique.

I saw these right as I walked in the door and glanced to the wall of shoes. I quickly became friends with Moses - who was working that day - and he gave me a very nice 2 for $150 deal with the Eires and another pair known as the Varsity Crimsons (which I have beat the crap out of riding my bike and wearing in the rain/snow).

That fateful day resulted in a nice relationship with the store. I have gotten many pairs from them since, as have my friends.
